A field of 52 attended the $6,160-added event and was treated with the pleasure of watching Dan Basavich run undefeated for another first-place finish. Vying for the hot seat, Basavich went into battle against the trusty legions of Filipino player, Al Lapena. Not letting Lapena hold strong ground at all, Basavich marched on to win 9-6. In the quarterfinals, WPBA star Karen Corr was campaigning to make a comeback from an earlier loss to Lapena. She managed to stave off Sean Morgan, winning 9-5.
